Localify Docs
Everything you need to translate UI with Localify — layouts intact, copy native.
Quick start
- Install the plugin from Figma Community.
- Open Localify in Figma (right-click → Plugins → Localify). The hosted Cloud AI is ready out of the box — no API key needed.
- Select text layers, choose your target language(s), and hit Translate. Pick a tone and length, then refine with Magic Edit if needed.
Install & activate
Install
Install from the Figma Community page. The plugin works with your Figma account; your license binds to that account.
Activation
Pro is activated automatically by payment webhook — no key to copy. If you have a legacy license key or need to activate manually, open the plugin's Account tab and paste your key there. It binds to your Figma account and activates right away.
Translating
- Select layers — any text layer or frame. Localify detects each layer's UI role (button/CTA, heading, placeholder, label, body) and uses it as translation context.
- Target languages — translate up to 5 target languages at once, across 150+ supported languages.
- Tone & length — use the 3×3 quadrant to dial in casual-to-professional tone and compact-to-full length.
- Batch translation — translate unlimited selections in one pass (your plan's credit quota applies).
- Magic Edit — conversational polish: ask for variants, tone rewrites, or style fixes in a chat session.
Features
- UI context awareness — layer roles are injected as context so translations read like native product copy.
- 100% style preservation — mixed colors, weights, fonts, and underlines are extracted losslessly and re-applied.
- Auto layout adaptation — layouts reflow so translated screens never break.
- Glossary — keep brand terms and product names consistent.
- Custom prompts — tune the translation instructions for your brand voice.
Models & BYOK
Localify works two ways:
- Cloud AI (default) — hosted translation with no API key. Text goes from the plugin to the model provider and back; it is not stored or used for training.
- BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) — connect your own DeepSeek, OpenAI, Gemini, Kimi, or MiniMax key. Free and unlimited for every user. Your key is stored encrypted on your device and sent only to the endpoint you configure.
Credits & billing
1 credit = 100 source characters of the original text you translate. Design context and glossary are never charged.
| Plan | Price | Credits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 / month | Resets monthly; no card required |
| Pro (monthly) | $7.9 / month | 5,000 / month | Recurring via Creem |
| Pro (yearly) | $49 / year | 5,000 / month + 5,000 bonus | ≈ $4.08/month; billed annually |
| Top-up | $3 / 1,000 | — | Never expires; works on any plan |
- Usage deducts monthly credits first, then top-up credits.
- Monthly credits reset each cycle and do not roll over; top-up credits never expire.
- Payments are processed by Creem; Pro activates automatically on payment.
Security
- Zero middleware — selected text goes directly to the model provider you choose.
- Encrypted keys — API keys are stored encrypted on your device.
- No training, no storage — designs are never used for training, and translations are not stored on our servers.
- Auditable — every request can be inspected in the plugin's API tab.
Troubleshooting
I ran out of credits
Buy a top-up pack ($3 / 1,000 credits, never expires) or wait for your monthly reset. Free users can also switch to BYOK for unlimited use.
Pro isn't activating
Pro activates automatically after payment. If it doesn't, open the Account tab, paste your license key manually, or contact [email protected].
A provider returned an error
Check that your BYOK key is valid and the provider endpoint is reachable. In Cloud AI mode, retry after a moment. If the issue persists, email support.
